New season of Richmond area guided tours

Discovery Richmond will be offering low-cost guided tours on foot, by bike and riverboat from Easter around the charming Richmond area of south-west London.  Private sightseeing and group tours can be arranged year-round, including themed and other language tours.
Richmond is London’s green oasis and visitors to Central London can escape the fast pace of city life and be here in 20 minutes by fast train. The area offers easy access from Heathrow and the M25 London orbital motorway.
Tours range from 2 hour guided walks around Richmond or Twickenham, full & half day guided bike tours, and short tours of Richmond followed by a Thames boat trip to the historic market town of Kingston upon Thames or spectacular Hampton Court Palace.
On the first Saturday afternoon of the month, the Twickenham walk includes a guided tour of Sandycombe Lodge, the rural retreat of Britain’s greatest landscape painter J.M.W. Turner. Visit London advises that our Richmond guided walk is among the best in the capital.
Discovery Richmond’s Paul Jackson says: “As well as the internationally famous attractions of Hampton Court Palace and Kew Gardens, there are many less familiar gems to discover here. Our aim is to let visitors see more and experience more of the area’s remarkable historical and royal heritage, alongside the natural beauty of its deer parks and the most picturesque stretches of the Thames in the capital.”

Discovery Richmond’s friendly and experienced tour guides are all local people and include London Blue Badge tourist guides.  The team is keen to share its intimate knowledge and passion for the area with visitors and locals.  There is an excellent choice of cafés, pubs and restaurants at the start and finish of every tour.
