There's always something going on in the Richmond Borough; some of the events we love so much they happen again every year, while others have been an age-old tradition for a few centuries - we definitely can't give those up! We're also mad about our sports and naturally there's always a Rugby Match to go to during the year, or a day at the Polo during the Summer.

Great River Race

An amazing event attracting close to 300 competitors worldwide, from the casual fundraiser to the experienced racer, the Great River Race is a day of fun for everyone!

Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

A beautiful celebration of flowers with a range of themed displays, from tropical escapes to the lives of royalty, and show gardens designed by a number of top gardeners for you to enjoy and draw inspiration from.

Henley Royal Regatta

First held in 1839, the Henley Royal Regatta - so named for its Royal connection and patronage - has the disctinction of being recognised by both rowing federations, but because it predates them the event operates under its own rules.

Henry VIII's Honeymoon Pageant

Celebrating King Henry VIII's marriage to Lady Jane Seymour, this event promises to be entertaining as the procession travels downriver, from Richmond to Hampton Court Palace.

Kew Music Festival

A week-long celebration of all that is musical, the festival has attracted a number of well-known performers, local orchestras and groups since its first year of activity.

Kew Summer Swing

Kurume Azalea Blossoms

During the last week of April, the gorgeous Kurume Azaleas at the Isabella Plantation come into full bloom - celebrate and witness this spectacular display while on a visit to Richmond Park.

Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race

An age-old tradition dating back to 1829, when two friends at the Universities challenged each other to a race, in which the loser challenges the victor to a rematch the following year.

Royal Ascot

With a history dating back to 1711, the Royal Ascot was founded by Queen Anne and today is internationally recognised as a prime sporting venue.

Sunbury and Junior Regattas

A family event in every sense; the Sunbury Regatta is held on the Saturday with races, games and entertainment rounded off with a fireworks display, and on Sunday is the Junior Regatta, an event for children to take part in and compete at various levels.
